Said The Whale - Goodnight Moon

Here's a reason why I love the internet

This was a free download off iTunes. I would never have discovered this quirky little song had it not been for the internet and its never ending supply of music. The ability to discover new artists and explore different genres that you won't hear on commercial radio or TV is limitless.

Here's a reason why I hate the internet

“You have the worst taste in music I've ever seen. You try to act all “deep” about these songs, but they're awful. Are Tom Cochrane or Roxette next on the list?”

One of my first blog comments from this post. I was kinda hoping my first few comments would be a little more positive and not so rude and condescending. But such is the anonymity of the internet.

While I appreciate how the internet has given us the ability to say whatever we want safely and without fear of reprisal, it seems to be stripping away some basic conversation skills. Chat rooms and online forums are great ways to exchange ideas and participate in open dialogues but statements like this don't add anything to the conversation. You don't sound smart or witty, you sound petty and conceited.

But in the interest of open dialogue I will address the above comment.

1.While you may not like my taste in music, I do not have the worst taste in music. You can't possibly know that for sure.
2.I'm not trying to act deep, I'm just blogging about what pops into my head when a song comes on my iPod.
3.Yes Tom Cochrane and Roxette will most likely be featured at some point.

I likes what I likes and I likes to share what I likes with other people. If you don't likes what I likes, I thank you for stopping by and sharing and hope you have a pleasant day.
